Heath Ledger doll hits the market

, Prev Next

The late Heath Ledger has been immortalisted in plastic as an evil six-inch toy figurine.

The new Joker doll, inspired by his upcoming role in the new Batman movie, has been unveiled just a week after his funeral.

Ledger’s grieving family have backed the release of the Mattel action figure to go with the upcoming Batman film The Dark Knight.

Two versions of the Ledger doll will hit toy stores in May this year.

The Dark Knight was the final complete movie project for Heath, who was found dead at his rented New York apartment in January.

“Heath was very proud of his work in the film, and his family is aware and supportive of Warner Bros., and its partner’s plans for the movie,” a family spokesman told the New York Post.

Fugly....just like the joker is meant to be...it's even a poor likeness to what Heath looked like...it's just the joker...fugly as ever...who cares if they make it...they can't NOT make it, can they? I agree with Cav Gallagher...slow news day, then?
as one person put it,by the name as creepy,it all comes down to money, let the poor guy rest and things will take care of it self
YEAH. Because batman figurines are a new thing, and all my other joker toys locked in storage are actually young Heath's made before their time. You couldn't convince me this was a Heath tribute doll.. even if it came with a cowboy hat and a boyfriend. Why is it everytime I take a squiz at the ninemsn celebrity newslinks I find a whole group of people mocking a dumb report? why is that?
love to own one, but from where
It's laughable how this 'article' tries to sensationalize standard Hollywood marketing practice. OF COURSE there's a Joker toy - a Batman movie is coming out. I don't know what is more pathetic about this piece, the ham-fisted attempt to create an emotive 'hook' from the most mundane and expected of movie mercahndising, or the writer's apparent belief that we've all never heard of the Joker. Absolute rubbish.
...it's an action figurine mom...
Whoever that noob is that posted the anonymous comment titled "thats sick" is a moron, ELVIS is dead, and where are his figurines? in every single gift shop you could possibly imagine. now this is a JOKER doll not a tribute to heath, its not HEATH its the JOKER who happened to play heath, how old are you dude, 5? grow some brain.
Heath Ledger will always be known as an amazing actor, and i assure you that he will never be known as a BARBIE DOLL, they will be bringing out millions of toys (which I will purchase) not only because of my love for the Dark Knight but as a personal sentiment to his memory
For pete's sake, who wrote this rubbish. It's a Joker doll and they have produced them for over 30 years..It happens to be a new model (which they release after every movie) Yeah Heath Ledger played the part, but it could have been anybody and they would still have made the Joker doll. If anyone is saying that a ban should be placed on merchandise which is of characters that Heath Ledger played, that would also mean banning all Ned Kelly Merchandise, get over it the world goes on. It's Batman and the Joker dolls they are selling NOT Heath Ledger Dolls (I bet you will not find his name mentioned on any of the dolls). Let kids have their fun as they don't know or care who played the part, they want to play with Batman and the Joker not Heath Ledger. He was a good actor and a very sad death, but he did not and does not own the characters he played.
Being portraited as The Joker is neither sick nor an insult to the legacy that is HEATH LEDGER. If they perhaps made a 2 Hands or even Knights Tale Jousting Game no one would be complaining but because The Dark Knight is being released
